You may have gathered that I have been on Jury Service this week. One chink of hilarity in a dark week was when one of my fellow Jurors who has clearly not watched any court-room dramas asked me, “Why do the Barristers call each other “My Little Friend?”

Even she laughed when I told her to listen carefully and she would hear it as, “My learned friend!”

Priceless.
