A triple whammy today.
Firstly , it feels like every one of my muscles is still sore from my gym session on Saturday 😦 the lower quads just above my knees are killing me and walking up and down stairs and steps makes me wince in anticipation of the sharp discomfort to come. I stink of muscle rub which reminds me of sweaty gyms and lecture theatres full of moaning, groaning PE students and I’m not even sure it’s actually helping. I am also hoping that the exercise programme that Cat sends through for me to follow during the week is not too strenuous as I really don’t like “pain”.
Secondly, in addition to my muscle soreness I am now the proud owner of an incessant thumping detox headache having had no alcohol (YES I said NO alcohol) for 48 hours, no chocolate, cake, biscuits, rice, pasta, bread etc etc and I must have drunk more water in the last 2 days that I have over the last 2 weeks. At least that seems to be flushing out all those deeply embedded toxins and I was warned that I may feel worse before I felt better. Roll on next week. Surely there can’t be many more toxins in there!
Thirdly I had to get up at 5am this morning ready for my 5 hour train journey up to Glasgow. Actually, 5am is quite normal for me but combined with the above it was a struggle just to move this morning. The good news is that I will enjoy the journey and see some of my friends this week- it makes the trip worthwhile 🙂 I will be able to stock up on my whisky supplies (but won’t be able to drink it just yet) and I should be able to catch up on some sleep in between.
It’s not so bad.
